A freaky but sad sad day yesterday

Well, I was doing my routine tarantula feeding rounds, and I noticed that Kracky had molted. Yeah! Kracky molted, but where was she? I could find her in her cage. I looked and looked and couldn't see her. I called Jason and told him he needed to get home so he could dig through the cage. (Kracky is a little too defensive for me to dig around in there; she would end up on my face or something) I just knew somehow she escaped. Although it was dang near impossible.

Jason made his way home 45 minutes later and inspected her cage. She was dead in the bottom of a burrow. Dead, in the death curl. How much does that suck? It looked like her molt didn't go correctly, she had not hardened correctly. It was sad. She was the only one with an attitude that I really enjoyed. Most of the time she was a sweetheart, but you never knew what you were going to get. She only hissed that one time, but on other occasions she would display a great display. It would scare me away if I was a predator. Much like that asshat of a fireleg I have.

RIP Ms. Kracky. You will be missed
